Broadmoor Internship Opportunities

This page contains information about internships in Broadmoor lasting between a few weeks (a college service trip) and a few months. If you're interested in opportunities for year-long employment in the Broadmoor neighborhood, visit the "Fellowship Program" tab.

These internships are unpaid by Broadmoor funds, but most Broadmoor interns are able to secure some form of financial support from their universities. If you're from Bard, Harvard, MIT, Notre Dame, or Yale, be sure to get in touch with your contact person in Broadmoor, and he or she will be able to tell you about funding sources at your school.  We will write any letters of recommendation or support you need to help you receive the funds you need to work with us in Broadmoor.  If you are not from one of these schools, we will write letters of recommendation and/or do whatever is required to help you secure funding from your school for one of our internships, too!  Let us know what we need to do to help you.

Internship positions for summer 2010 will be posted in March 2010.  At that time, the BDC will begin accepting applications.

How to Apply for a Broadmoor Internship!

Step 1 - Decide on the internship(s) you truly want to do the summer 2010.  Browse the job descriptions (once posted) and decide which position (or positions) you want to apply for.    Only apply for positions you are truly willing to do.  Apply early and earnestly. Feel free to follow up with a current staff member to learn the real dirt about our internships before you apply.

Step 2 - Apply early for the position(s) you want! Download and complete the application linked below at the bottom of this page.  One application form will allow you to rank and apply for several internships.  If you apply for more than one internship, please rank order your preferences, with #1 being the highest to the least preferred.  We try to accommodate people's preferences whenever possible. You can download the Broadmoor internship application at the bottom of this page. With subject line "Internship Application," please send completed applications to the supervisor(s) listed on the internship application.

Step 3 - We conduct the phone interview and reference check. After submitting your application, someone from the appropriate agency will get back to you to discuss your application.  Think of any questions you want to ask us during that call.  At that time, we will do our best to answer all of your questions, and to hash out your housing, food, transportation, and living expense needs.

Step 4 - You will be accepted or turned down and notified of the decision.

Thank you for your interest in our internships!  If you have any questions, please contact the BIA Secretary, Karen Miller.
