History - Yale in Broadmoor
Broadmoor's partnership with Yale took off in 2008, during the first summer of the Bulldogs in the Big Easy program. Easha Anand ('08) and Kezia Kamenetz ('09) founded Bulldogs in the Big Easy, which sent 24 Yale undergrads to internships throughout New Orleans in the summer of 2008. That summer, Jakara Mato ('10) and Hannah Shearer ('09) were full-time interns in Broadmoor and Kezia Kamenetz was a part-time intern ('09). Yale students participating in the BITBE program do not need to apply again with the forms on this website for Broadmoor internships advertised through BITBE. One is enough! Yale students may apply for other Broadmoor internships, independent of the BITBE opportunities.
Yale students can also apply to Bard College's Urban Studies in New Orleans Program and select Broadmoor as an internship site.
FYI: Hal Roark, a Broadmoor resident and the executive director of the Broadmoor Development Corporation, is a Yale graduate (PC '87).
